The Faculty of Technology of the Federal University of Paraná is composed of seven departments. The relationship between the faculty and the society is on a partnership basis, through extension projects, continuous education courses, agreements and exchange programs with public and private entities that help support labs, research projects, specialization programs and training. The first research line is producing research on Fluid Mechanics applied to Hydraulic Structures, including physical and numerical modelling. A Hydraulic Laboratory with computer facilities is the foundation of this group. The Hydrology research group consolidated expertise on deterministic and stochastic modelling processes that allowed the use of an experimental watershed as the case study model for its research. The Environmental Engineering group has establishing research on modelling of Environmental Systems, including distinct ecosystems. To support these activities the laboratory of Environmental Engineering offers the basic infrastructure for research. Additionally, a group on water and wastewater treatment processes and solid waste management are being consolidated. |
