CONICET - Consejo Nacional de Investigaciones Cientificas y Tecnicas
The National Council of Scientific and Technical Research (CONICET) is the main organism dedicated to the promotion of science and technology in Argentina.

The CIMA (Research Centre of the Sea and the Atmosphere), is one of the institutes that depend directly on CONICET. It is shared with the University of Buenos Aires and it is located in the main campus of University of Buenos Aires, next to downtown of Buenos Aires.

Research activities at CIMA are focused mainly towards the Climatic Modelling, Regional Climate Variability, Anthropogenic effects on Climate, Modelling of the Argentine Sea circulation, Numerical Weather Prediction and Climatic Change regional scenarios.
