The University of Buenos Aires (UBA), is the largest argentine university; founded in 1821 It has several faculties In particular, the Faculty of Sciences produces the 25% of total PhD thesis over all Argentina.

The Departamento de Ciencias de la Atmosfera y los Oceanos of the Facultad de Ciencias Exactas y Naturales (FCEN) is the only university-level centre of Argentina and one of the oldest in South America in researching and teaching Atmospheric Sciences. It holds a degree career on Atmospheric Sciences and also the PhD level in Atmospheric Sciences and Oceanography and Masters in Agricultural Meteorology and Environment Sciences. It is the main centre of research in Argentina, with more than 50 scientists, fellows and PhD students.
